Asst. Chief Elected State President

Yesterday in Alexandria, Shreveport Assistant Chief of Fire Prevention, Terry Lewis was elected as the first President of the newly formed, "Louisiana Association of Fire Prevention Chief's" by members representing their departments from around the state.

Also elected to positions were:

First Vice President-Chief Samuel Pierre, Director

Lafayette Fire Prevention Bureau

Second Vice President-Assistant Chief Kenneth R. Green

Monroe Fire Prevention Bureau

Secretary/Treasurer- Senior Inspector Vernon A Randolph

New Orleans Fire Prevention Bureau

The Louisiana Association of Fire Prevention Chief's mission is to provide current and up to date information to the general public through networking, effective public education, strategic code enforcement and professional arson investigation ultimately," To Save Life and Property" within the state of Louisiana.

Lewis joined the Shreveport Fire Department in 1978 and was promoted to the prevention bureau in 1983. He was promoted to assistant chief of fire prevention in 1998 and was placed in charge of inspections and code enforcement. ###
