Overnight Fire Damages Queensborough Home

A fire in Shreveport’s Queensborough neighborhood heavily damaged the home at 2531 Portland Avenue overnight.

No one was injured in the blaze that was called into Caddo Parish 911 at 3:05 a.m. this morning. When firefighters arrived they found the single story wood-framed structure billowing flames and smoke from its front windows. Crews used a quick offensive attack and were able to confine the fire to the front livingroom area of the residence.

The fire was brought under control at 3:21 a.m. Fire investigators are still looking into the cause of what they term a suspicious fire. Structural damage due to fire was list as moderate and smoke damage heavy. No injuries were reported. ###
