Fire Department to Hold Open House

The Shreveport Fire Department will be holding their Annual Open House this Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2.
Twenty department fire stations will be participating in the all day events with several select locations providing advanced medical health screenings on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The health screenings are a way for the department to take a pro-active stance in providing the public with information on their current health condition as well as measures to help ensure their future wellness. The department has partnered with Willis Knighton Health Systems to provide the screenings.

The open house will also be an opportunity for the citizens of Shreveport to meet their firefighters up close. Firefighters will be on hand to provide station tours and demonstrate firefighting and medical equipment used in the life saving efforts of the department on a daily basis. On Sunday, June 2, Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran is encouraging members of local churches to stop by their fire station on their way home following their service.

The following is a list of fire stations providing Health Screenings and additional services on Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All of the fire stations will provide station tours, blood pressure checks, and refreshments
