Fire Academy’s 47^th Basic to Graduate

The Shreveport Fire Department will graduate nineteen new firefighters from their Fire Academy’s 47^7h Basic Training Class tomorrow in a 10:30 a.m. ceremony at the Municipal Auditorium, 705 Elvis Presley Avenue.

The recruit class started in February, undergoing sixteen weeks of intense fire and medical training in such areas as fire behavior, strategic operations, safety, hazardous materials, search and rescue, and emergency medical technician (EMT). Recruits have achieved their state Firefighter I certifications and are eligible to test for their National EMT certification.
