Fire Department Announces Promotions and Retirements

Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran is proud to announce the promotions of the following fire department employees:

District Fire Chief Marlin McCoy to Assistant Chief. Chief McCoy’s new responsibilities and duties include Shift Commander over "A" shift - one of the fire department’s three rotating shifts responsible for emergency response.

Captains Murphy Foster, Kenneth Conly, Paul Waldon, and Lewis Pope to District Chief. These new District Chiefs will oversee and supervise one of the department’s five fire districts, each encompassing 5 fire stations that collectively makeup the emergency operations division.

Fire Drivers Stewart McInnis, Richard Todd, David McInnis, and Ivory Wiggins to Captain. These new captains will be responsible for the supervision of firefighters at assigned stations and emergency incidents.

Firefighters Kevin Parker, David Ebarb, Tony Moffett, and Chase Bynog to Fire Driver. Fire Drivers are responsible include the master operation of all fire department equipment and maintaining engineering responsibilities of the fire engine or ladder company at a fire scene.

Retiring from the department are Assistant Chief Dennis Deloach with 33 years of service; District Chief Jim Draughon with 32 years of service; District Chief Luther Sharbono with 31 years of service; and District Chief Benny Fredieu with 32 years of service. Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran and the fire department thank them for their many years of faithful service. ###
