Fire Department Announces Senior Level Promotions and Retirements

Shreveport Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran is proud to announce the promotions of . . .

Assistant Chief Mack McCoy to Deputy Fire Chief. The deputy chief is the overall second in command of the fire department and oversees the entire fire emergency operations division. Chief McCoy comes to the position with more than 33 years of experience and was the previous shift commander for the department’s "B" shift.

District Chief Robert "Bobby" Robinson is being promoted to Assistant Chief. Chief Robinson will take over as shift commander for one of the department’s three emergency operations shifts.

Captain Danny Richardson is being promoted to District Chief and will oversee four to five fire stations in one of the department’s five fire districts.

Retiring from the department after 35 years of dedicated service is Deputy Fire Chief Coy Chapel. Chief Chapel served as Deputy Chief under both Chief Cochran and former fire chief Bo Roberts.
