No injuries reported from the fire

The Shreveport Fire Department responded to 1947 Oakdale Street early this morning around 3:45 AM for a house fire that appears to have been started by a “Molotov Cocktail” thrown into one of the bedroom windows. When fire crews arrived on scene they found the bedroom on fire and the home was filling up with smoke. The fire was brought under control within ten minutes and the fire damage was contained to the one involved bedroom, although, the home suffered heavy smoke damage.

The home was occupied at the time by two adults, but they were not sleeping in the bedroom where the fire was started. They did report hearing the glass breaking and the room catching on fire. There were no injuries reported from the fire.

Evidence of the ignition source was found at the scene and the fire is still under investigation through a joint effort of Shreveport Fire and Shreveport Police Department investigators. There are no suspects at this time.
