June 8, 2009 - Morning Building Fire Causes Heavy Damage

The building was not occupied by any members

The Shreveport Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 5527 Flournoy Lucas Road at 9:02 AM. Fire crews arrived on scene at 9:08 AM and found heavy smoke coming from the multi-occupancy, one-story, metal building. The fire was contained to one end of the interior of the building. Fire crews were able to bring the fire under control at 9:43AM.

The owner of the building stated that a daycare and recording studio business worked in the rented building. The building was not occupied by any members of the businesses who work out of that building at the time of the fire. The fire caused heavy damage to the area of origin of the fire and heavy smoke damage throughout the entire building. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
