Simple arson carries a 2-15 year prison sentence

Ruby L Walters, 50, was arrested by arson investigators for “Simple Arson” for intentionally setting fire to the property of another without the owner’s consent. Simple arson carries a 2-15 year prison sentence and up to a $15,000 fine for a conviction.

Fire Investigators believe the suspect intentionally set fire to Tee Dee Daycare at 5527 Flournoy-Lucas on June 8, 2009. The fire caused nearly $40,000 in damage to a building that Ms. Walters did not own.
Fire officials executed an Arrest Warrant signed by Judge Leon Emmanuel with a bond set for $15,000. The suspect was arrested without altercation.
