April 2, 2020 - Motor Vehicle Accident in the West Shreveport ends with one Person Dead and four Persons Seriously Injured
Motor vehicle accident involving one vehicle
At 9:17 p.m. this evening, the Shreveport Fire Department was dispatched to motor vehicle accident involving one vehicle that allegedly hit a parked vehicle and crashed into a tree in the 6500 block of Jefferson-Paige. Engine Company 18 arrived on scene at 9:20 p.m. to find five persons trapped in a badly mangled vehicle. Fire crews used the jaws-of- life to extricate the patients. One patient was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office.
The accident required three SFD Medic Units to transport four patients to LSUHSC. The injuries of the four patients were considered serious, ranging from lacerations to fractures. According to fire officials, the age of the patients range from 15 years old to 18 years old. The name and age of the deceased is being withheld pending proper notification of the family.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department.
