April 6. 2010 - SFD Investigators Arrest Man on Two Charges

Suspect arrested for allegedly throwing a bottle of a flammable liquid onto the side of a home

Shreveport Fire Investigators arrested one man today on one count of aggravated arson and one count of manufacturing a delayed incendiary device. Evan D. Corley, a 28 year old male who resides at 2419 Pinehurst Boulevard, was booked into City Jail this afternoon around 4:00 pm.

Corley was arrested for allegedly throwing a bottle of a flammable liquid substance with lit paper as a fuse onto the side of a home located at 248 Prospect Street. Fire crews were dispatched to this location last night at 8:25 pm and found where the “Molotov Cocktail” device had been thrown against the home and scorched the outer material of the structure. Occupants of the home had extinguished the fire prior to the arrival of the fire department. Fire Investigators were dispatched immediately to the scene and their ensuing investigation resulted in the arrest.

So far in 2010, SFD investigators have arrested nearly a dozen individuals on arson and related charges.
