April 20, 2010 - The Shreveport Fire Department Celebrates its’ 53^rd Graduating Class

New hires from Bossier City’s Fire Department will begin a new career with the Shreveport Fire Department.

Each member of the eight-member graduating class has successfully passed a five week abbreviated version of the Department’s normal 18-22 week training class. The course was shortened because of the previous work experience and training acquired by these fire service professionals. Immediately following the graduation, they will receive their shift duty assignments and begin manning fire engines starting this Thursday.

“These individuals were hired with the expectation of making an immediate impact on the services provided by the Shreveport Fire Department,” according to Fire Chief Brian Crawford.
