May 11, 2010 - Construction Worker Dies in Crane Accident at Caddo-Bossier Port

60-year-old male pinned under a crane and metal fabrication

Shortly after lunch, the Caddo-Bossier Port located at 10701 Hwy 1 in South Caddo Parish was the scene of a work-related accident, which resulted in one death. When Engine Company 20 had arrived on-scene at 12:45 p.m., they found a 60-year-old male pinned under a crane and metal fabrication.

Fire crews extricated the patient and provided immediate on-scene care before transporting the patient to LSUHSC where he was pronounced dead by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office. His name is being withheld until proper notification of the family.
