August 24, 2010 - Fire Damages Attic in Two-Story Home
No Injuries reported in Sheridan Street house fire

The Shreveport Fire Department responded to 1121 Sheridan Street at 11:59 am today for a reported house fire. Fire crews arrived on scene at 12:01 pm to find a two-story wood frame home with smoke coming from the second floor and attic. Fire crews had early reports that someone may be inside, but a search of the home revealed that no one was home. The fire started in a bedroom on the second floor and extended into the attic space. The fire was brought under control at 12:24 pm.

There were no injuries reported from the fire. The fire caused moderate fire damage to the bedroom and attic space. The remainder of the home received some moderate smoke damage. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
