November 15, 2010 - IABTI appoints Chief David Glass to International Office

Chief David Glass is the first Shreveporter to hold the highest position among Bomb Technicians and Investigators

Shreveport Chief of Fire Prevention David Glass will be honored by the City of Shreveport and Shreveport Fire Department at a reception this week for his recent appointment as International Director of the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI).

Glass’ one-year term appointment was announced during the International Conference in June. Glass is a lifelong resident of Shreveport who became a second generation firefighter in 1978 when he joined the Shreveport Fire Department. Later, he rose through the ranks to serve as the Chief of Fire Prevention, having oversight of fire and explosive investigations.

The IABTI seeks to counter the criminal use of explosives through the exchange of training, expertise and information among personnel employed in the fields of law enforcement, fire and emergency services, the military, forensic science and other related fields.
