The Shreveport Fire Department provides free
smoke detectors for residents of the City of Shreveport. In addition,
if the 9 volt battery in your smoke detector needs to be replaced the
Shreveport Fire Department provides batteries as well.
Bass Pro Life
The Shreveport Fire Department Inspectors collaborated with Bass Pro
Life and SPAR to teach children how to fish at the
Cross Lake,
Municipal Pier and Boat Launch.
Operation Santa Claus
Since 1984, public safety agencies in Caddo and
Bossier parishes have teamed up with KWKH radio station – now part of
Clear Channel Communications – to help fill Christmas wish lists
throughout the area. Last year, more than 2,100 disadvantaged children
were given Christmas presents, thanks to the help of public safety
departments and citizens of the Shreveport Bossier City Area.
Food Deliveries
Each month
the Louisiana Food Bank and the Catholic Church provides food boxes for
the elderly. Fire Prevention personnel delivers the food boxes for this
much needed program.
