Second man wanted for robbery/homicide arrested
Jerry Wright, 19, of Shreveport turned himself in to Shreveport Police detectives about 2:30 p.m. today after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Wright is charged with second degree murder in connection with the death of store owner Jamil Abdul. Timothy Butler, 22, of Shreveport was arrested at Hearne and Waggoner at 11 a.m. on a charge of first degree murder in the case.
Wright and Butler allegedly robbed the Clothing Outlet store, located at 2600 Jewella. While Wright reportedly ran from the scene, Butler and Abdul got into a struggle. Abdul, 47, subsequently was shot and killed.
Butler was found in a vehicle parked in a grocery store lot at Hearne and Waggoner. His brother, 23-year-old Thomas Butler, was taken to the station for questioning.
