Two men sought for robbery/homicide

Shreveport Police Department is searching for two black males wanted in connection with Monday’s robbery/homicide.

Timothy Butler, 22, of Shreveport is wanted for first degree murder and Jerry Wright, 19, of Shreveport is wanted for second degree murder in the shooting death of 47-year-old store owner Jamil Abdul.

Abdul was killed during a robbery of the Clothing Outlet, located at 2600 Jewella. According to reports, two black males entered the store about 12:30 p.m. and pretended to shop. They then pulled handguns and demanded money. During the robbery Abdul and one of the robbers got into a struggle, and Abdul was subsequently shot. He died at the scene.

Butler is believed to be the shooter and is currently on parole for armed robbery. He and Wright are suspects in other local robberies that have occurred recently.
