Annual police awards dinner to be held Thursday
Shreveport Police Department will hold its annual Appreciation Dinner and Awards Ceremony at 7 p.m. Thursday at Convention Hall.
The banquet, sponsored by the Agurs Business Association, will feature awards for Officer of the Year, Supervisor of the Year and Civilian of the Year for the department’s four divisions of Support, Investigations, Uniform Services and Administration.
A number of Chief’s Appreciation Awards will be given to both officers and citizens who have gone above and beyond for the department. Four commendation medals will be given to heroic officers and Unit Citations will be given to three units within the department.
Master of Ceremonies will be Liz Swaine, and music will be provided by the Ever Ready Gospel Singers.
