Man arrested for identity theft, bank fraud

Shreveport Police Department’s Financial Crimes Unit has arrested a man on charges of bank fraud, forgery and identity theft.
Anthony Jackson, 30, of the 5900 block of Southern is accused of creating false identities and obtaining credit cards with those identities. After charging items on the credit cards, Jackson then allegedly paid the credit card bills with telephone transfers from another person’s bank account.
It is believed that Jackson has victimized at least 20 people through identity theft and stole about $16,000. At this time, Jackson has been charged with two counts of identity theft, one count of forgery and one count of bank fraud.
The investigation continues.
