Man beaten by homeless man dies

Jerry Wyatt, the 45-year-old man beaten at a vacant house near Stoner and Highland died Wednesday of his injuries.

Wyatt was taken off life support at LSU Hospital where he had been since he was discovered badly beaten on Monday evening. He suffered from severe head trauma.

The man arrested for the beating, 37-year-old Franklin Motley, will now be charged with second-degree murder. He had been charged with aggravated second-degree battery.
