For years, officers with the Shreveport Police Department have taken to the streets to help raise money for Special Olympics.
In fact, Northwest Louisiana law enforcement agencies raised $35,000 last year – the most in the entire state.
This year the public can get involved by participating in the Dean/Williams 5K Run and Healthwalk on April 20.
At the 3 p.m. Roll Call on Thursday, April 4, several competitors in the upcoming Special Olympic games will meet officers who help make their dreams possible. The Special Olympians will also get the chance to sit in a patrol car and work the lights and sirens.
Please join us for this special moment in these young athletes’ lives. And get details on upcoming activities that will make the Dean/Williams Run and the Special Olympics Torch Run the biggest success ever.
See you Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Roll Call Room, located in the Patrol Wing on the ground floor of the Shreveport Police Department.
