Police investigate toddler death

Police are investigating the death of a 22-month-old child who died at Willis-Knighton Pierremont Hospital.

The child was taken to the hospital Sunday about 8:15 p.m. not breathing. The child, who lives in the 100 block of Justin, was playing with his mother’s boyfriend when he reportedly stopped breathing. It is possible the child suffered a neck injury.

Police are investigating this case to determine whether foul play was involved or whether the death was an accident. Autopsy results are pending.
