Shreveport police have arrested two people in connection with an armed robbery that resulted in an eight-hour standoff with officers this morning.
The incident began about 2 a.m. when the two suspects robbed an individual of money. When police arrived, the suspects ran into an apartment where a 14-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy were staying. They refused to exit the apartment.
The SPD’s Special Response Team was called, and about 6:15 a.m. the boy was released.
About 10 a.m., the SRT officers entered the building and made verbal contact with the suspects. The suspects, who were hiding in the attic of the apartment, surrendered peacefully.
The two suspects and the teen-age girl were taken into custody. The girl was later released. Those charged are Alexander Jackson III, 28, of the 1100 block of Ethel Street in Bossier City and Jerry House, 30, of the 3300 block of Ironwood in Shreveport.
Jackson is charged with armed robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and false imprisonment. House is charged with principal to armed robbery and false imprisonment. A gun believed to be used in the robbery was recovered at the scene.
Both Jackson and House have been arrested numerous times.
