Police arrest eight in narcotics operation

Members of the Shreveport Police Department Street Level Interdiction Unit conducted a citywide buy bust operation Monday night in response to numerous complaints of open-air drug sales.

Seven people were arrested on felony charges and one person was arrested on a misdemeanor charge after undercover officers purchased narcotics from street corner drug dealers.

Police seized 1.1 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $110,

8 grams of marijuana with a street value of $80, $286 in cash and one handgun.
