Police to conduct insurance checkpoint

The Shreveport Police Department will conduct an administrative checkpoint, also known as an insurance checkpoint, on Wednesday, April 24.

The checkpoint will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Patrol Area 2, which encompasses east and southeast Shreveport, including the neighborhoods of Highland, Broadmoor and University Terrace neighborhoods.

The previous administrative checkpoint was conducted on March 13 in the 900 block of East 62^nd Street. It resulted in the issuance of 68 citations, 46 of which were for insurance violations. One person also was arrested for DWI.
