Woman accused of scalding son

A Shreveport woman is facing charges of cruelty to a juvenile for allegedly placing her 2-year-old son in scalding hot water.

Tomeka Douglas, 22, of the 600 block of David Drive was arrested by Juvenile Detective Suzanne Gallier. The son suffered second and third degree burns to his legs after being placed in a bathtub on April 17.

The child and his two siblings were removed from the home by Child Protection.

The child has been released from the hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
