Shreveport Police Department will again keep kids busy this summer with a number of activities, including a summer camp, basketball camp and fishing tournament.
For the second year in a row, the SPD will sponsor its Youth Summer Camp. It will be held June 12-15 at the Garland Scout Ranch in Stonewall.
Boys between the ages of 10 and 12 are eligible to attend this free camp, which features overnight camping and days filled with swimming, games and activities. Spaces are limited and going quickly.
On June 29, SPD will host its Third Annual Fishing Tournament at the Municipal Pier, located at 2900 Municipal Pier next to Cross Lake Patrol.
The fishing tournament goes from 8 a.m. until noon for boys and girls ages 6 to 12. It is free, and food and drinks will be provided.
In July, the SPD Youth Basketball Camp at Southern Hills Metro Center on Bert Kouns July 15-18. It will be held for boys and girls ages 6 to 12. The camp runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.
