BAFB security forces member arrested

A Barksdale security forces member is facing charges of filing a false report and insurance fraud for allegedly lying about his car being stolen.

William Terrell Paige, 20, reported that his car was taken from his apartment in the 7800 block of Youree Drive on Feb. 7.

On Feb. 28, Shreveport detectives recovered the vehicle in a parking lot in the 3100 block of Knight Street. It had been vandalized and its radio was missing.

While investigating, police received a tip that Paige had arranged to have the car stolen and vandalized to claim the insurance money for it.

Reports also allege that Paige was arranging to have someone set fire to the car, so he could receive more money from the insurance claim.

Paige was taken to Barksdale AFB’s OSI office, which will prosecute Paige for the crime.
