Police investigate two shootings
Shreveport police are investigating two shootings Sunday night, including one that killed a 27-year-old Shreveport man.
Kerry Milton was shot once in the upper body while driving in the 700 block of Bates about 10 p.m. Sunday night. He continued driving his vehicle until it crashed into a fence in the 600 block of 70th Street near Line Avenue.
Milton was transported to LSU Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
About 30 minutes later, another shooting occurred at Kent and Hollywood that injured 28-year-old Derrick Egan. Egan was transported to the hospital by private auto after being shot in the back and neck area. He was in critical condition at LSU Hospital this morning.
The second shooting occurred when a maroon-colored vehicle shot at the vehicle Egan was in. After Egan was shot, others with him drove him to the hospital.
Investigations are underway to determine suspects responsible for the shootings. At this time it appears the shootings are related, since both victims knew each other.
Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 673-7000.
