Police investigate homicide on West 70th

A Shreveport woman was killed in her apartment overnight in the 6000 block of West 70^th Street.

Diane Bailey, 28, was shot several times in the head about 12: 25 a.m. Her husband, who saw the shooting, called police. The woman was transported by paramedics to LSU Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The incident occurred after the suspect, a black male acquaintance of the couple, apparently pulled a gun and shot the victim in the face. It is uncertain at this time what prompted the shooting.

Bailey’s husband, who was in the apartment when the shooting occurred, reportedly was threatened by the suspect before the suspect left the apartment and fled the scene in a pickup truck.
