City of Shreveport Employee Shot during robbery

At approximately 2:23 a. m. this morning, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the intersection of Broadway and Carver in the Mooretown Neighborhood, relative to a shooting.

Early investigation has revealed that three City of Shreveport employees were repairing a sewer problem near the intersection of Broadway and Carver when they were approached by two suspects who produced a weapon and demanded money. After the victims had complied with the suspects demands, the suspects fired a shot at the victims, striking one of the city employees.

The wounded victim was transported to LSUHSC by The Shreveport Fire Department , where, according to Shreveport Police detectives, he was listed in critical condition.

Shreveport Police Detective Greg Rudell is the lead investigator and has requested that the victim’s names not be released at this time. More information will be forthcoming as the investigation proceeds.
