Shreveport Police Investigate homicide

Shreveport Police officers are investigating a homicide that took place yesterday, August 27, in the 2800 block of Poland St.

At 3:20 p. m. patrol officers responded to the 2800 block of Poland St. relative to a 911 call. Arriving officers discovered that the victim, identified as Roy Reese, age 25, had been shot twice. Reese was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives Van Wray and Shawn Parker, the lead investigators in this case, have interviewed several witnesses and it appears that Reese became involved in an altercation with two black male suspects. During this confrontation, the two suspects opened fire on Reese, striking him twice.
