A man believed to have committed several robberies in Shreveport over the past few months was arrested after robbing the House of Brass this morning.
Melvin Johnson, 32, was arrested in the 100 block of Albert after police chased him from the House of Brass.
Johnson was captured after detectives responded to a robbery call in the 3700 block of Youree. The suspect was still in the store at the time, but fled out the back when police arrived.
When officers caught up to him on Albert Street, he pointed a shotgun at them. He was then taken into custody.
Johnson is charged with armed robbery, resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a police officer for pointing the weapon at the officers.
A Halloween mask, a shotgun and money taken from the House of Brass was recovered.
It is believed Johnson is responsible for other robberies that have occurred over the past few months at fast food restaurants, clothing stores and other businesses.
More criminal charges could be filed against Johnson as the investigation continues.
