Pedestrian killed in early morning accident

Shreveport police are investigating an early morning accident that killed a pedestrian at West 84th Street near St. Vincent.

The accident occurred at 5:38 a.m. when 60-year-old Freddie Lee Holley of the 200 block of West 86th Street was walking down the middle of the street.

A 2001 Isuzu Rodeo driven by Tara Hampton, 29, of the 400 block of East 84th Street was driving westbound on 84th Street when she saw a man in front of her car. She could not stop in time to avoid hitting him.

Holley was taken to LSU Hospital where he later died. Neither Hampton or the two 5-year-old children in the vehicle with her were injured.
