Police investigate bakery robbery

Shreveport detectives are hoping someone will recognize a man who robbed the Thrifty Bakery at 2800 Hollywood last night.

The robbery occurred at 5:37 p.m. A black male entered the store, walked around, grabbed a bag of chips and took it to the register to check out. When the cashier opened the register to put in the suspect’s money, he pulled a ski mask over his face and pulled a gun.

He then went to the register and got cash out of it. He left the store, running behind the store toward a residential area.

The suspect is described as 5'8" tall, slender to medium build with dark skin. He had a mustache and was wearing a red knit skull cap, dark blue thermal shirt, dark brown pants and dark brown or black shoes. He was armed with a handgun.

Note to reporters: On the video, you can see the suspect’s face as he approaches the counter. But the video then skips to another camera, where you see only the robber’s back. At the end of the dubbed videotape, I put a still frame of the man’s face. It’s dark, but hopefully someone will recognize him. Thanks!
