Police apprehend robbery suspects

Shreveport police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Family Dollar in the 7400 block of Line Avenue today.

Police got a call about the robbery at 12:12 p.m. Witnesses said one black male entered the store armed with a gun and demanded money. He got a small amount of cash and reportedly forced a "customer" to leave the store with the suspect.

Both the suspect and the alleged customer walked into a field and then

took off running. Officers chased the suspects and captured them in

different locations about 15 minutes later.

One suspect, who is believed to be the one who committed the robbery, was captured in a field behind Bethany Street. The second suspect, the

"customer", was arrested at Liberty and 72nd streets.

An investigation is underway to determine the identity of the suspects

and the criminal charges they face.
