Police investigate robbery, shooting at local food mart
Shreveport Police were called to the F and D Food Mart at 1901 Ford Street around 9:25 p.m. last night in reference to a lone gunman who entered the store demanding money from the attendant.
The store clerk, Mohammad Zeidan, was behind the counter when the suspect entered the business and pointed a handgun at him. Zeidan grabbed the suspect’s gun and a brief struggle ensued. During the struggle, the suspect fired one shot which struck Zeidan in the right shoulder. Zeidan retrieved his own weapon returning fire at the suspect. The suspect then fled the store.
The suspect was described as a light skinned black male approximately 5' 10'’ tall wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, black pants, and armed with a black handgun.
While officers were working the scene of this robbery, police dispatchers received a call of a black male who had been shot in the 2000 block of Dunlop. Officers responded to this location and found 38 year old black male Michael House deceased in the front seat of a vehicle. House matched the description of the robbery suspect and is believed to have been shot while attempting to rob the food mart. Investigation into this case continues. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Crimestoppers at 673-7000.
