Two Shreveport men were arrested this morning after beating and robbing another individual in the parking lot of Texaco, 3920 Hearne Ave.
Gabriel Spates, 21, of Shreveport was arrested after an officer had to deploy his department-issued Taser. The Taser was used when Spates refused to show his hands to the officer after repeatedly being ordered to do so.
Spates was checked at the scene by paramedics and then taken into custody. He is charged with simple robbery, along with Orlando Frazier, 21, of Shreveport. Frazier was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit with officers. The incident occurred about 1:27 a.m. today.
The two were arrested after a Shreveport police officer arrived at the Texaco station and found a man being beaten after he resisted giving his money to the robbery suspects.
The victim, Allen Fuller (age unknown) of 3100 block of West Maple Street, was treated at the scene by the Shreveport Fire Department for injuries he sustained in the beating.
