Shreveport police have arrested one person and recovered a stolen van and items salvaged from a house fire suffered by the victim.
Quinton Davis, 45, of Shreveport is charged with two counts of illegal possession of stolen things. He was arrested after officers discovered two stolen vehicles parked at the Palomar Motel, 3975 Greenwood Road.
The 1990 Astro Van was reported stolen on April 28 while it was parked in front of the Super 8 Lodge on Monkhouse Drive. The van contained items that the family was able to salvage from a house fire they had recently suffered.
A Shreveport police sergeant was at the Palomar when he discovered the van that had been stolen. While questioning the manager, Davis reportedly drove up in a Jeep that also had been reported stolen.
A search of the motel room, as well as the van and Jeep, resulted in the recovery of most of the stolen items.
