Handgun safety courses to be held next week

Shreveport Police Department will host two firearms safety classes – one strictly for woman and another for men, women and children.

The Firearms Safety Class for Woman will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 11. Students do not need to bring a firearm to class. This is not a concealed carry class.

The Firearms Safety Class for Men, Women and Children will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 13. Like the women’s class, students do not need to bring a firearm, and the class is not a concealed carry class.

Both courses take place at the Shreveport Regional Police Academy, 6440 Greenwood Road. Registration is required. Call 673-7170 to register.
