Shreveport police have arrested two people in connection with the unlawful dispensing of controlled substances.
James Bruce, 48, of Belcher was charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Meanwhile, Kimberly Bonner, 46, of Shreveport was charged with obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud.
Bruce, a pharmacist, is accused of providing medications to Bonner without prescriptions. The illegal acts were believed to have taken place over the past five years and involved such drugs as hydrocodone, Lortab and Oxycontin.
The charges stem from an investigation into the death of Bonner’s husband, Perry Bonner, last July. It is unclear what caused Bonner’s death, but drugs were found in his system.
Both suspects were booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
