Shreveport police have arrested a 55-year-old Shreveport man on a charge of armed robbery in connection with a bank robbery that occurred at 9:45 this morning.
Jack King of Shreveport is accused of walking into the Hibernia Bank, located at Greenwood and Jewella, showing the teller a gun and demanding money. Once he got the money, he fled out the bank on foot.
A quick-thinking customer who was at the bank to open an account jumped into his truck and followed the suspect. At the same time, the manager of County Market saw the suspect and also gave chase.
The suspect was apprehended by the citizens in the 3900 block of Sandy, along with a nearby female resident who took the gun away from the suspect.
Officer arrived and took King into custody. He is currently being investigated for other crimes he may have committed recently.
