Shreveport police have arrested two men after a Crime Stoppers tip led police to a wanted robbery suspect.
Demetrius A. Holmes, 31, of Shreveport is charged with the May 7 robberies of the Shell Station in the 6700 block of Pines Road and the Petro Station in 6900 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.
He also will be charged with the recent first degree robbery of the Circle K in the 2700 block of Lakeshore. Other charges are pending.
Upon investigation, detectives determined that Holmes was involved in a scheme to take cigarettes during the robberies and sell them to the manager of a Shreveport convenience store.
This afternoon, investigators with the Shreveport Police Department and the ATF arrested 45-year-old Abedkoder Akram, the manager of a Texaco food store located at Milam and Jewella.
Akram is charged with illegal possession of stolen things after investigators located suspected stolen items. Among items seized from the store were 20 cartons of cigarettes, 20 cans of Off bug repellent and numerous tubes of toothpaste and deodorant.
It is believed Akram bought these items from people who would come into his store. He would then resale them.
Bond for Holmes has been set at $100,000. Akram was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. Bond for him has not yet been set.
