Holmes charged with more robberies

Shreveport detectives have charged Demetrius A. Holmes, 31, of Shreveport with additional counts of robbery.

Holmes is now charged with two counts of first degree robbery for two incidents at the Circle K located at 1830 Line Avenue and simple robbery for an incident at Speedway/Pilot Travel Center in the 6900 block of Bert Kouns. On Wednesday, Holmes was arrested for the first degree robbery of a Shell Station in the 6700 block of Pines Road. He also faces a simple robbery charge for an incident at the Petro Station in 6900 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and the first degree robbery of the Circle K at 2700 Lakeshore.

In all the cases, Holmes would take cigarettes, which he allegedly would allegedly sell to the manager of a Shreveport convenience store. That manager, 45-year-old Abedkoder Akram, was arrested Wednesday for illegal possession of stolen things.
