Man arrested for two robberies

Shreveport detectives have arrested a homeless man on two counts of armed robbery of recent businesses.

Calvin Lewis, 44, is accused of robbing Fireplace Specialties at 1529 Texas Avenue on June 7 and the Circle K at 1830 Line Avenue on June 11.

The fireplace business robbery occurred about 7 a.m. when a black male entered the store before it opened for business. He was armed with a knife and got money from the employee.

Meanwhile, the Circle K robbery occurred at 2:13 a.m. when a single black male armed with a pocket knife entered the store and demanded money from the clerk.

The suspect was wearing the same clothing in both robberies.
