A 31-year-old Shreveport man will be charged this afternoon with second-degree murder after he allegedly entered a north Shreveport manufacturing plant and opened fire on his ex-girlfriend.
Tamika Summage, 36, of Shreveport died at LSU Hospital after she was shot several times in the back.
According to witnesses, 31-year-old Meker Fuller (also spelled Meeker Fuller) of Shreveport entered the Seal Craft plant in the 1200 block of Airport Drive. He approached Summage at her work station, pulled a weapon, fired several times and then fled the scene in a brown car.
The car was located in the 1300 block of Hawn Avenue, and Fuller was arrested by police a short time later in the 1900 block of North Hearne Avenue. A handgun believed to have been used in the homicide also has been located.
Fuller was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on a warrant issued for simple battery in connection with an unrelated 2003 domestic violence case. He now faces a second-degree murder charge for Summage’s death.
The 2003 incident occurred on March 22, 2003, at a home in the 1800 block of Russell. Meker allegedly hit the victim with his fists and hands during a domestic dispute.
