Shreveport police are investigating a shooting that killed a 19-year-old Shreveport man and injured another.
Rocky Gilyard reportedly drove up next to a vehicle containing 25-year-old Chevelle Hamilton of Shreveport at Market and Lake streets and began firing shots, striking Hamilton once in the buttocks. Hamilton then returned fire, striking Gilyard in the chest.

Gilyard was transported to LSU Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, Hamilton showed up at the hospital, where he was treated for a non life-threatening injury.
At this time, the shooting appears to be justifiable homicide. No charges have been filed.
