Shreveport police investigate stabbing death

A Shreveport woman died after being stabbed during an altercation between neighbors in the 800 block of York Street last night.

Charlesetta Henry, 38, of Shreveport died after she, her 18-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son were stabbed during a dispute with their next door neighbor.

Henry was stabbed in the chest and back and was pronounced dead at LSU Hospital, while 16-year-old Kenneth Franklin was taken to the hospital with a wound to his abdomen.

While at the detective’s office, 18-year-old Dominque Henry realized she also had received a cut to the left side of her abdomen. She was treated at the scene by the Shreveport Fire Department.

The three reportedly were fighting with a 32-year-old neighbor over the woman’s teen-aged daughter. The neighbor reportedly armed herself with a knife and began stabbing her attackers.

The woman was taken into custody for questioning. At this time, no charges will be filed, as the incident appears to be self-defense. The case will be sent to the district attorney’s office for review.
