Man charged with Pelican Inn shooting death

Shreveport police have arrested a 21-year-old Shreveport man on a charge of manslaughter and booked him into the Caddo Correctional Center.

Troy Theus, 21, of Shreveport was arrested today after being questioned by detectives.

He is accused of fatally shooting 17-year-old Lamarcus Ewing in the back in the parking lot of the Pelican Inn at 4:10 a.m. Thursday (July 1).

The two reportedly were among a group of people fighting. Ewing reportedly got a gun. Ewing was shot while he and Theus struggled over the weapon.
